Year 11 NEC Skills Show Trip

Dear Parent/Carer,

As you are probably aware, in recent months we have extensively developed the work we do at The Edge around careers, guidance and work-related learning.

On Thursday 16th November we have the opportunity to take Year 11 students to the Skills Show at the NEC. This is a fantastic chance for our learners to gather a wide variety of information about a range of careers and other opportunities, with many of the stalls being interactive.

Travel will be by minibus after registration and return by the close of school. Lunch will be provided although there will be food and drinks for sale at the NEC if students wish to purchase any additional snacks. We suggest a maximum of £10 spending money would be appropriate and students will need to be responsible for keeping their money.

Learners need to attend in full uniform. This allows staff to remotely supervise them around what will be a busy show. Please ensure this happens as we have taken this decision for your child’s safety. There will be regular check in times throughout the day.

I would be grateful if you could return the reply slip below to reception or by e-mail to [email protected] by Monday 13th November.

Yours sincerely,

Donna Blythe

Head of English and Senior Line Manager for Employability
