Have you got to the bottom of the triggers for this behaviour with your son/daughter? A lot of teenager’s struggle with explaining their feelings and this can lead to frustration that they direct at you(those closest). It could also be that something is happening with your son/daughter, could they be being bullied online, struggling with their mental health or issues within the family home?
It can be very difficult to identify these and is very likely to not be anything you are doing wrong.
