Dear Parent/carer,
Your child has been selected to take part in an exciting work experience project. On the 25th to the 27th January 2023 they will complete three days of Painting and decorating on site at The Concord Youth Centre. They will be volunteering in the community and working towards a recognised qualification. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a skill that we do not currently offer in school. Students will be working with Volunteer It Yourself staff to improve local leisure facilities. Successful participants will achieve Entry Level City and Guild in painting and decorating. They will be using tools and will be given a safety briefing at the start of the project, failure to follow site instructions will result in immediate removal from the site.
Students will be transported to and from school in taxis and supervised by Edge staff but the project will be led by Volunteer It Yourself. This is a physical activity that will require a degree of commitment, places on the project can be withdrawn at any point. All food will be provided.
The students will depart from school at 9.30 and return to school for 2.30. Students can leave directly from Concord if we have verbal permission from parents/carers.
