Dear Parent/ Carer,

As you know, regular communication with you is important to us and I am writing with details of our “Virtual Parents’ Evening” which takes place on Thursday 11th February between 4pm and 6pm.

If your child is new to The Edge, you may not know that in normal times, these are very friendly events where we provide free Fish and Chips for all families that attend. Although the Coronavirus pandemic will prevent us from holding a physical event this time around, we would like to offer you instead the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their form tutor via an online video call.

You will be able to identify a preferred time slot, with appointments lasting 10 minutes each. The actual appointment runs using a web browser so you can access the system via any device that has internet connectivity, with a speaker and microphone. This includes smartphones, tablets, laptops or PCs.

You will shortly receive an SMS text message asking you to reply and confirm an active email address for us to contact you on.  Once this is confirmed you will receive a second SMS text message asking you to reply to identify your preferred time slot from A, B, C or D;

    • a) 4pm-4.30pm
    • b) 4.30pm-5pm
    • c) 5pm-5.30pm
    • d) 5.30pm-6pm

Your child’s form tutor will be able to feedback from all subject areas, discuss attendance, achievements and behaviour as well as the latest academic progress reports that we recently shared with you.

If you are unable to access a device that has internet connectivity, we are more than happy to make telephone calls if required in order to ensure that you are able to receive all of the information you require about your child.

As always, please also feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] if there are any further questions I can assist with in any way regarding this letter.

Yours faithfully,

Adam Smith
