Cultural Capital Week Summer 2023

Dear Parent/Carer,

Student enrichment experiences are a vital part of our “Safe, Ready, Respectful” curriculum at The Edge Academy and school visits to different environments and places outside of the local area form a key aspect of that provision.

We are planning to give further such opportunities to students during the week beginning July 17^th 2023. Year 10 and Year 9 groups will be out of school on their visit as listed below over the week. The visits are part of our curriculum offer and as such there will be no alternative on-site provision if your child is not on the trip.

The visit will be to Flip Out. Flip Out Telford is Telford’s biggest and best indoor adventure park! With attractions including E-Karting, Laser Quest, Interactive Football, Battle Cannon Arena, Bumper Cars, Soft Play and much more. https://www.flipout.co.uk/locations/telford

Each day the trip will leave by 9.45am in order to be ready to start our session in Telford at 11.00am. The transport will not be able to wait so students must ensure they are on time for their trip day.

All participants will need to wear comfortable clothing and trainer type shoes with socks; open toe shoes, sandals or sliders are not recommended. The trips will use a variety of transport: All trips will return at around 2.15pm. Students will be free to leave from school upon return at 2.15pm in recognition of the full day of offsite activities that they will have been actively participating within.

Lunch, refreshments and drinks will be provided, however there may be opportunity for students to access other refreshments should they wish to bring a small amount of money themselves. This is optional and not necessarily required.
