Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to start by thanking you as well as your children for the overwhelmingly positive interaction with Coronavirus testing during the first full fortnight back and for the high volume of testing consent forms that have been returned. I am also pleased to report that we have had no positive staff or student cases of Coronavirus since December 2020.

I am writing to explain the next steps in the testing process which you may well already have an awareness of if you have been following the news. Most of our students have now received their second “lateral flow” test since the fuller reopening of school on March 8th and will be completing their third test this week. Once pupils have received their third test, they will be able to complete tests at home. Detailed instructions will be supplied with the tests and pupils should be able to test themselves under adult supervision with confidence, especially as we have been modelling the process with them in school in the last fortnight. When the tests are sent home, I will also include an accompanying letter which will show you how to log the test results quickly and easily on our website.

In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to remind any parent/carer who has not returned a testing consent form that they are still available to complete and return electronically at: https://www.theedgeacademy.co.uk/covid-form/.

If you have any further questions regarding Coronavirus testing, please contact me at [email protected] .
