Year 11 Mock Examinations

Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd December 2019

Dear Parent/ Carer,

With just over six months until the impending GCSE examinations, it is imperative that Year 11 students undertake a mock examination in Maths, English and Science to ensure they are aware of what the examinations entail.

Therefore, on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd December 2019, students will partake in their GCSE English Literature, Science and Mathematics examinations.

The GCSE English Literature examination is 1 hour long and is worth 20% of the final GCSE grade. This exam consists of one question from a choice of two.

The GCSE Mathematics examinations is 1 hour and 30 minutes long. There are at least 27 questions. This examination is worth 33% of students’ final GCSE grade.

The GCSE Edexcel Science examination is also 1 hour and 30 minutes long and is worth 50% of the final GCSE grade. Calculators can be used in this exam.

All students in school have been given a copy of their mock examination timetable, including dates and times and the room they will be seated in. They have also been informed of whether they have any additional support or extra time.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,
