Uniform Update

Dear Parent/Carer,

You will be already be aware that we are proud of the part uniform forms within our identity at The Edge. It reinforces who we are as a community and allows students to feel pride in the school. It also ensures that students are not put under any social pressure because of the type of clothes they wear and all are treated equally. In addition, it prepares students for life after school when generally, they will have to dress smartly for work.

Student voice is important to us and following recent input from students, we have not only introduced a choice of white or black polo shirts but have also allowed students to wear most types of bottoms with the school polo shirt and sweater.

During the current spell of continued hot weather we understand students need to feel comfortable and can confirm that the following list is our agreed acceptable list of uniform:

Boys- normal trousers or shorts.

Girls-normal trousers or knee length shorts (nothing above the knee) or skirt (which must be knee length), no leggings. School tops must be worn full length and not tied at the waist.

All- School sweat shirt.

All- School polo shirt.

There is no obligation for students to wear the school sweater for the remainder of term if they do not wish to providing they are wearing the school polo shirt.

We reserve the right to ask parents/ carers to bring in correct uniform for any students who are not following the policy, we also reserve the right to ask students not following the policy to complete their work in our isolation room.

Thank you in advance for your continued support and any questions, let me know.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Wakefield
