Dear Parents/Carers,

Year 11 Vocational Taster Session Uniform

As you are aware, in an exciting change to our curriculum, all Year 11 students now attend college every Thursday afternoon for vocational taster sessions. We would also like to thank students for the enthusiasm and dedication they have shown during the sessions so far.

We are writing with a reminder that on Thursdays, all Year 11 students should attend in uniform, but can then bring a change of clothes for their afternoon at college. Should they arrive for lessons in the morning not in uniform, parents/carers will be called and we will request that uniform is brought into school immediately. It is also important to stress that clothing and footwear for the college visit should be appropriate- this particularly applies to cropped tops which are restricted. Should a student bring a cropped top for college, they will from now on be asked to change back to school uniform.

A reminder of our current uniform policy is available online at our website www.theedgeacademy.co.uk. This does state that black trousers should be worn and jeans/tracksuit bottoms are not acceptable as part of our school uniform. Thank you in advance for your support in this matter. We are very proud of our uniform and our student’s high standards of appearance.

Please contact me if there are any further issues regarding this matter that you would like to discuss.

Yours faithfully

Donna Blythe,

Head of English/ Senior Line Manager for Employability
