Dear Parent/ Carer,

I hope you are well and keeping safe in these continuing challenging times. Apologies once more for the inconvenience of the problems with our heating and hot water earlier this week. I am writing with some general updates as we pass the halfway point of Summer Half-Term 1.

Firstly, I would like to inform you of a change to our student entrance areas which will take effect from Monday May 10th. We have been a heavily oversubscribed school for some time now, but given a further significant increase in our numbers of Key Stage 4 students in recent weeks, to make the best use of our building facilities, we will be asking:

· Key Stage 4 students (Years 10 and 11) to enter and leave school via the front entrance. These students will now have breakfast, break and lunch in the downstairs canteen area and will be able to store their belongings in the locker area next to the canteen. They may also use the outside yard area during break and lunch times.

· Key Stage 3 students (Years 7,8 and 9) to enter and leave school via the back entrance. These students will now have breakfast, break and lunch in the upstairs Hall and will be able to store their belongings in the locker area in the staff office area.

Secondly, a reminder that as lesson 1 now begins at 9.15am, it is more vital than ever that all students are now in school by this time at the very latest every day. Our free Breakfast Club continues to operate from 8.45am every day, and as always, it is fantastic to see so many students arrive to school early to attend this. For the remainder of this half-term, we will be rewarding every student who has 100% attendance and punctuality each week with a meal of their choice from a local fast-food restaurant during “Friday Brunch”. Please contact me directly at [email protected] if you have any questions regarding this letter, or if there are any other matters I can help with in any way.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Wakefield
