Uniform expectations

Uniform is an important part of a school’s identity. It reinforces who we are as a community and helps allow students to feel pride in their school. It also ensures students are not put under any pressure because of the type of clothes they wear and all are treated equally. It also helps prepare students for life after school where many will have to dress smartly for work.

  • Boys: black trousers (no jeans)
  • Girls: black trousers or skirt (which must be knee length) with black opaque tights (no leggings or jeans)
  • Black shoes or trainers (no markings)
  • School sweatshirt
  • School polo t-shirt

New uniform can be purchased from reception: Sweaters £15, Polo t-shirts £8.

Fizzy drinks, sweets, and chewing gum

Unhealthy food e.g. fizzy pop, energy drinks, sweets and chewing gum, are NOT allowed in the academy. All learners should be aware that if such items are brought into the academy, they will be confiscated and not returned.

Students are allowed to have with them a plastic drinks bottle for water. These can be re-filled at break and lunchtimes as needed.

And finally, a reminder that we break up at 1pm on Friday 21st July. Friday will be a non-uniform day with all contributions going towards our school fund to improve the activities available to students at break and lunch times. (50p suggested minimum donation).

I wish you all a safe and happy summer break and look forward to seeing you all back at the academy on Wednesday 6th September.

Yours faithfully,

Karen Slater

Principal
