Letter to Year 11 Parents: Examination Results Day

Thursday 25th August 2022

 Dear Parent/ Carer,

We hope you are all well.

We wanted to clarify the procedures for this year’s GCSE Results Day on Thursday 25th August 2022.

Students can come to school to collect their results any time between 9am and 12pm.

If students are not available in person to collect their results, a named family member can collect them if you contact the school beforehand to give us their name. They will, however, need to bring identification on the day such as a driving licence or a passport. If students wish to receive their results in the post, we will post them out on Thursday 25th August.

Various staff will be available on the day to discuss the grades achieved and to give any help and support. The Careers Service will be available, too, to discuss college placements, offer any advice and information on next steps.

I would also like to remind you that the government has put a variety of support in place around the Coronavirus pandemic and tried to make the transition back to the GCSE examinations as smooth as possible. They have stated that they are making the grading of GCSEs more generous this year to provide a safety net for students who have been affected by the pandemic.

Please do not hesitate to contact me via email at The Edge Academy to discuss any of the information detailed within this letter.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Claire Fairburn

Assistant Principal
