Blood Brothers English Trip Reply Slip

Year 10 Theatre Trip – Blood Brothers

Dear Parent/ Carer,

You are probably aware that we are currently studying the play Blood Brothers by Willy Russell, work on this play will constitute 20% of students’ final GCSE English Literature grade.

It is imperative that students have an excellent understanding of the text, its context and how characters engage on the stage. Furthermore, we wish students to foster a love of the theatre.

Therefore, we have purchased tickets for Year 10 students to attend the 2.30pm production of Blood Brothers on Wednesday 24th October 2018 at the Regent Theatre in Stoke on Trent.

The running of the musical is 2 hours and 45 minutes (including an interval). We will leave The Edge Academy on the school minibus at 12.30pm after having lunch and leave the theatre at 5.30pm after the production. We should arrive back at school at approximately 7pm dependent upon traffic.

Students will need to wear their Edge Academy uniform.

Please talk to your child about the need for excellent behaviour on the transport to and from the theatre and when in the auditorium.

Please sign the attached form below to give your consent, if you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]
