Dear Parent/ Carer,
I hope you are well and would like to start by thanking you once more for all of your support during the lockdown period; as always it is much appreciated. I am writing to confirm arrangements for the end of this half-term and for the beginning of the new half-term.
Firstly, a reminder that Spring Half-Term 1 finishes on Friday 12th February at 2pm. It has been a busy few weeks in school with an impressive 85% of our students attending our in-school provision and I hope both you and your children can take the opportunity to have some kind of rest during the holiday period.
Secondly, a reminder that Spring Half-Term 2 begins on Monday February 22nd at 9.15am for all students attending our in-school provision. At the time of writing this letter, we are still unaware of what government plans for education may look like after March 8th, the date they have provisionally given for when schools across the country might begin to re-open more fully. We will of course update you as soon as we receive further information.
Our remote learning package for students choosing to work from home will also restart on February 22nd. This will once again feature a blend of online YouTube lessons, differentiated physical work packs, live tutor time sessions and a variety of other electronic resources accessible on the Home Learning section of our website at: https://www.theedgeacademy.co.uk/learning-at-home/
As we mentioned in last weekend’s staff video update, I would once more like to thank you and your children for your continuing support of our safety measures. I am pleased to report that we have had no positive student or staff Coronavirus cases since December 2020 and we will continue to ensure that safety remains of paramount importance.
