Dear Parents/Carers, 

I hope you are all well as we approach the half term break. I am writing with details of the recreational visits taking place next week as part of our third “Cultural Capital Week” of the academic year.  

Every student is expected to be in school, on time, every day. Our final week at school will include academic and cultural capital activities both as a part of our curriculum offer and also as a thank you for their hard work throughout this term.  

Monday 14th February: Year 11 Work Related Learning as usual  

Year 10 Trip to Worcester. Students travel by minibus to take part in a river walk, seeing city landmarks. They will have a packed lunch by the river. There will then be 45 minutes independent shopping time in the high street. Finally, a visit to Top Barn Farm shop to see/feed animals. All students will need to arrive in school by 9.15am and will return to school between 2.00 and 2.30pm for dismissal. 

Tuesday 15th February: Year 10 Work Related Learning as usual

Wednesday 16th February: CONNECT Trip to Worcester. Students travel by minibus to take part in a river walk, seeing city landmarks. They will have a packed lunch by the river. There will then be 45 minutes independent shopping time in high street. Finally, a visit to Top Barn Farm shop to see/feed animals. All students will need to arrive in school by 9.15am and will return to school between 2.00 and 2.30pm for dismissal. 

Thursday February 17th: 11B Trip to Worcester. Students travel by minibus to take part in a river walk, seeing city landmarks. They will have a packed lunch by the river. There will then be 45 minutes independent shopping time in high street. Finally, a visit to Top Barn Farm shop to see/feed animals. All students will need to arrive in school by 9.15am and will return to school between 2.00 and 2.30pm for dismissal. 

Year 10 Trip to Kings Heath Park. Students will travel to Kings Heath Park at 11.30 on a minibus, they will eat lunch there and then explore the site of an exciting landscaping project they will be embarking on after half term, further details on this to follow. They will return to school in time for dismissal at the end of the day.  

Friday February 18th: Year 9 Trip to Worcester. Students travel by minibus to take part in a river walk, seeing city landmarks. They will have a packed lunch by the river. All students will need to arrive in school by 9.15am and will return to school for 12pm for end of day departure. 

In line with our “Safe, Ready, Respectful” ethos, the cost all of these activities will be fully met by The Edge Academy. Lunches and general refreshments will also be provided as normal. Students may bring a small amount of additional spending money with them to external venues if they wish to at their own risk.  

Students will need warm clothing suitable for outdoor weather.
