Dear Parent/ Carer,

A Happy New Year to you all and I hope that you and your child were able to enjoy the Christmas period in these continuing difficult times. I am writing this evening with a brief update re-Coronavirus following the Prime Minister’s press conference a little earlier.

At present, the most recent guidance we have received from the Department of Education states that as an Alternative Provision school, we are able to fully reopen on Wednesday 6th January. We also remain open for new admissions from partner schools, baseline testing for students about to start with us, and open to volunteers who have kindly contacted us about assisting us with our planning for the introduction of Coronavirus testing.

The same guidance does state however that we do have the option of agreeing with families that individual students can stay at home if there are any particular anxieties around returning to school; we will be in touch with all families by telephone on Tuesday January 5th and are of course happy to discuss any concerns you may have on a case-by-case basis. We have spoken to a number of families already today and we obviously understand that many of you will have a number of questions you may want to ask us given that a national lockdown has been imposed this evening.

We will continue to keep you updated as and when we receive further guidance and we will be in touch with all families again shortly regarding all aspects of our provision.

As always, please also feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] if there are any further questions I can assist with in any way regarding this letter.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Wakefield
