Year 11 Stepping Up Day Letter March 22nd 2018
Dear Year 11 Parent/ Carer,
At this important stage of Year 11, we are committed to fully supporting our students as they begin to prepare for the examination season and as they step up their revision. It is with this in mind that we are delighted to write with details of our “Year 11 Stepping Up Day” which takes place at the Touchbase Pears conference centre in Selly Oak on Thursday March 22nd.
All Year 11 students will be off timetable on this day but need to arrive at school no later than 9.30am. We will then transport them on the school minibus to the conference centre in Selly Oak. The “Stepping Up Day” will run from 10am-2pm, students are welcome to depart directly from Selly Oak at 2pm if you agree to this on the consent form below. Morning refreshments will be provided for students on arrival, a lunch will also be provided free of charge. The day will be informal and students can wear their own clothes.
The session will focus on a wide variety of areas which will help your child to achieve their potential in the final months of their time with us at The Edge. Details of revision/ holiday workshops and mentoring arrangements will be shared with students during the day but we will also be working with the students on self-belief, revision techniques, teambuilding activities, ways to avoid stress, and general planning.
