Curriculum outline – 2017/18

We aim to develop young people confident in their own ability with the resilience and determination to persevere. Through a comprehensive information, advice, and guidance (IAG) programme, high quality careers guidance, work related learning, and the opportunity to achieve a variety of qualifications we will enable students to aspire and dream big, ensuring they have choices when they leave.

Year 11:

  • Level 2 qualifications in English, maths, English lit, biology
  • Level 2 qualifications in 2 pathway subjects (art/catering/music/child development/photography)
  • Employability accreditation
  • Half a day work related learning placement
  • Vocational learning experiences at college
  • Enrichment lesson
  • PE lesson

Year 10:

  • Level 1 qualifications in English and maths
  • Level 2 qualifications in 2 pathway subjects (art/catering/PE/photography)
  • Employability accreditation
  • Half a day work related learning placement
  • Enrichment lesson
  • PE lesson

KS3:

  • Students will learn using a thematic approach with half termly projects with a big focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills.
  • PixL EDGE activities will form the curriculum based on the attributes of leadership, organisation, initiative, resilience, and communication.
  • Students can gain accreditation at different levels.
  • Includes tracking, target setting, and reflection activities.
  • Princes Trust TEAM awards
  • PE and sports leadership lessons
  • Enrichment lesson
